Some sporting moments we will never forget. I have layered ‘1991’ into one such image, forming art into a high-fashion statement. Champions are the reflection of our deepest possibility. This was a year that inspired us to be more, and provided us with an image that is burned into memory. The colors of the shirt palette represent the faded hues left behind after something has been burned, almost scorched.
Each shirt is a work of art utilizing the fabric as a canvas. On the reverse side of the shirt, the artist's signature is placed into a motif inspired by his first professional tennis racquet, the Wilson Ultra 2. This practice echoes the 1980’s trend where designers added their name to apparel as a mark of high design and quality.
